THE 9.62-kilometer diversion road from Pulilan to Baliuag, an alternate route to the congested Daang Maharlika, is expected to be completed and opened before the end of the year, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced yesterday. DPWH Region 3 Director Antonio V. Molano, Jr. said the remaining embankment and concreting activities is almost complete with 83% of works accomplished. “We are certain that the whole stretch of Pulilan-Baliuag Diversion Road will be concreted before the end of the year. Its third and final phase which involves widening and construction of a 12.8 lineal meter bridge is also underway,” said Mr. Molano. Built at a cost of P732 million, including right-of-way expenses, the road stretches from the Pulilan-Calumpit Road in Barangay Tibag, Pulilan near the North Luzon Expressway to Daang Maharlika in Barangay Tarcan, Baliuag.
