Ronda mayor, 5 others face graft charges for failing to post bid invite on PhilGEPS


THE OFFICE of the Ombudsman has found probable cause to charge six local executives of Ronda, Cebu, including Mayor Mariano Y. Blanco III, for 15 counts of graft for failure to post the invitations to bid for 15 projects on the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) from 2012 until 2013. The others charged, according to an Ombudsman release, are: Municipal Engineer Oscar Pilapil, Municipal Budget Officer Thelma Landiza, Municipal Assistant Treasurer Brigida Cabaron, clerk Frauline Requilme, and utility worker Evelina Tan. The projects involve, among others, medicines and the construction of schools, health center, and other public infrastructure.
